Okay, so I know most of you are probably like, “Viv, these are some of the same photos from yesterday” and I am fully well aware. First of all, it’s my blog and I can do what I want, but more importantly this was done on purpose. I knew I wanted to discuss how to keep your converse white on the blog, so I figure why not double dip.
So this idea started when my best friend Victor bought me a pair of white converse last year for the birthday. I already had a pair of white converse, but they were pretty dirty. But to me, converse are supposed to be kinda dirty. Apparently he didn’t agree and was embarrassed of me walking around with dirty white chucks. After that, I made it my life’s mission to keep these things white and fresh2death. Here are my secrets:
1. Don’t wear them in settings of which you know they will get dirty (college bars, concerts, grassy areas, muddy spots, bar crawls, etc.)
2. Friends don’t let friends, not look out for the best interest of your white shoes. This means that if I have a friend who’s wearing white shoes, I try to help them steer clear of accidents or even accident prone friends. It’s like, you can’t wear your white chucks without taking the necessary precautions.
3. If any of these unfortunate events occur, CLEAN your white chucks. Don’t be scared, it is possible. No need to freak out and think you have to throw them away. No fear, Vivie is here. My two secret weapons for keeping my white chucks fresh is the Clorox Bleach Pen for spot treatment and Fan-Fare for all over surface cleaning. I start with the pen for specific stains and then spray the Fan-Fare over the entire shoe and rub it in. Once I’ve done that, I stick them in the wash on the whites cycle then either let them air dry or I stick them in the dryer (depending on my lack of patience). Another product I use for spot treatment is Goop, my dad LIVES by this stuff.
I hope you all have found this beneficial and now feel like you are well equipped to keep your chucks and other white shoes, fresh2death. You’re welcome
