Hello 2015!

Hi everyone! This is my first official blog post of the year and I am BEYOND excited! A lot of hard work and hours have gone into this blog and I cannot wait to share it with you. Before I go into detail about this outfit, I want to stress that you don’t have to spend a fortune on your clothes to look great. If you’ve already read the ‘About Me’ tab, this will sound redundant, so I apologize. Yes, I love designer brands, but I rarely buy them at the retail price. Like most, I have bills to pay and other more lucrative investments to make. Looking great is important, but going broke over it is not.

ANYWAYS, this outfit is by far one of my favorites and if I could wear it everyday, I promise you I would (but I don’t for obvious reasons). I am giving you a heads up that you will probably see this vest again because it works perfectly with so many outfits. Unfortunately, this vest sold quickly at Old Navy so they no longer carry it at the moment, but I have added similar options. The belt I am wearing came with a dress I previously purchased from H&M a number of years ago. I am notorious for mixing and matching items old and new.

Speaking of “old” items, I have to apologize ahead of time because some of these are hard to find since they’re older, but I will try my best to find and link comparable ones. Now, moving on to my boots. I get so many compliments when I wear these and I think they are simply timeless. When I bought them, I had no idea they would be in style for so long.

I am absolutely obsessed with my Missouri necklace from Etsy. You can literally get these state necklaces anywhere, but I really like supporting small businesses, especially ones created by women. I specifically bought this one because I love how it’s open instead of filled. I always feel the need to “rep my city” wherever I go, so this necklace is the perfect way to do that!

I know this is only the beginning, but there are more exciting things to come for this year. I love setting personal and professional goals to get me on the right track. Goal setting is critical for success, it helps me overcome complacency, and it gives me something positive to work toward. I know it’s only the first Tuesday in January and we have a long year ahead of us, but I know this year will be fantastic!
